Beit Uri in blossom

Beit Uri, situated in Givat Hamoreh, Afula, is a residential home for about 120 mentally challenged people aged between 6-55. The home runs a special needs school for younger members and for the adult community there are a variety of rehabilitation studios producing high-quality handicrafts.

Founded in 1969 by the late Devora Schick- a Holocaust survivor, in memory of her own handicapped son - Beit Uri is today a public, not-for-profit association, run by a Board of Trustees and funded primarily by the Israeli Ministries of Welfare and Education.
