Employment

Every resident of Beit Uri is partner a partner to the creative process making his or her own contribution for the well being of the whole community, tending the vegetable garden whose produce is used in the  café-gallery, or meeting the demands of the outside community by creating a range of handmade products using natural materials.

Working from the raw material stage until the final product gives adult residents a sense of purpose and achievement as they become surrounded by finished ceramic products, woven wall-hangings, candles, recycled- paper creations, and baked and pickled food items.

Through their creative and professional handiwork - guided by professionals in basketry, woodwork, felt and wool, weaving and ceramic handicrafts – the residents are employed and given the opportunity to give something back to the society that cares for them.
